Community Service Events

October-Around Halloween we participate in our communities' trick or treat nights but instead of asking for candy we asked for canned goods for our school's back pack program that provides food for students who need food for the weekend and long breaks from school.
November-We took part in the Million Meals Campaign at Lucas Oil Stadium this year with the Indianapolis Colts!   We also team up with our local 4-H Junior Leaders Program and do our annual Rake N Run. We rake the yards of elderly and disabled people who cannot rake the leaves from their yards.

February-Faculty and Staff breakfast cooked by our members to say thank you to the teachers and staff of our school for all of their hard work and support to the FFA.

Children's Pedal pulls are held throughout the summer and early fall at community events and celebrations in our county.

May - Every 15 Minutes is a program held during prom season and FFA members participated in a reenactment of an accident caused by impaired drivers.

AG Day for Elementary Students
The Benton Central FFA teams up with the Benton County Farm Bureau to have an educational day for our younger students in the school corporation. This is held at our county fairgrounds in April. Our members bring livestock, equipment, and other agriculture related materials to do small rotating presentations to the younger students teaching them about agriculture and its importance in their daily lives as well as being safe around livestock and equipment.

Children's Barnyard @ Benton County Fair - July, 2017

Picture
Chapter officers arrange for livestock animals and smaller pets like rabbits to be at the fair in a tent for small children and their parents to walk around petting and learning about these animals. The children are able to see what the animals eat and how they are cared for by our FFA members. This is free of charge to the public and is open throughout the fair. The  officers seek donations to help cover the costs of the tent rental and other needed supplies to maintain the barnyard. Come check out our barnyard at this year's county fair.

Citrus Sales Fundraiser

Picture
Every November we sell citrus fruit as our major fundraiser for the year. The money we raise goes to help cover the costs of contest entry fees, leadership camps, state and national conventions, awards banquet, and fun activities at our monthly meetings. Give us a shout this fall to order some delicious fruit.
